Only in Louisiana can you experience the longest running prison rodeo in the nation.
What began in 1965 years ago as a “fun” thing by a handful of rodeo-loving inmates and employees has become a bi-annual show drawing thousands of visitors each year one weekend in April and every Saturday in October at Louisiana State Penitentary - Angola.
Admission is: $10. Gates open at 9:00 am. The Rodeo begins at 2pm. Craft displays are open until 5:00 pm.
All proceeds go to rodeo expenses and supplement the Louisiana State Penitentiary Inmate Welfare Fund
